NEWSLETTER ABOUT THE LATEST WORK OF THE DUTCH WRITER AND PAINTER JAN G. MARQUE
Newsletter September 2008
Latest work of Jan G. Marque.
Two months ago I started to make, along with my Parcivalius-Landscapes and other work, regular romantic landscapes. After some thinking and development period and some more sweat, the first two paintings are now ready to show to the public and to be published on my website.
For most part my work exists out of Philosophical Realism. Artworks where combined words and images stimulate people into searching for subjects and let them reflect on it. With my romantic landscapes I choose for a different approach. The undergoing of the image with feeling by the spectator is the main point.
This means that, especially in the beginning, you will find no humans, animals, or other creatures in my romantic landscapes and that you will find an old fashion title under the work.
I am going to place ruins and towers in the paintings as part of the human aspect to Nature, and I am going to paint the woods more capricious.
So I am aware that my romantic landscapes take no part in the Philosophical Realism as a whole. But the choice lies in the fact that most people see my imagery as independent artworks, instead of part of an art form.
Enjoy.
